Swilly Mulroy & Letterkenny Merger Information

Dear Member,

As you already know, Swilly Mulroy Credit Union is merging with Letterkenny Credit Union in April.  This is an exciting time for us and we want to make sure any changes go smoothly for you.

This letter is to make you aware that a change is required to your online banking access. This is because Letterkenny Credit Union uses a different banking platform to the one used by Swilly Mulroy Credit Union. After the merger you will need a different app and your log in details will be different.

It’s best to prepare for this change in advance of the merger date and we’ve outlined what you need to do below.

If you are currently a member of both credit unions…

All you need to do is e-mail us at info@swilly.cumail.ie or at info@letterkennycu.ie, tell us your account numbers and we will look after the rest.

If you are a member of Swilly Mulroy Credit Union only…

If  you wish to continue to have online access to your account throughout and after the merger process, you must register for online banking on the Letterkenny Credit Union website www.letterkennycu.ie.

All Swilly Mulroy Credit Union members will receive a new Credit Union member number when the merger is completed.  You will need this new member number to complete the registration process.

Your new member number will be your current member number plus 100000.  For example, member number 1234 will become 101234.

Registering & Access

Register and complete the online form HERE.  The key steps are as follows:

  1. Create a Username (can only consist of letters and numbers) and Password (minimum 8 characters in length) - make sure to store this information in a safe place.
  2. To Register at the link above, enter your New Account Number, Name, Date of Birth, email address and phone number in the appropriate area.

Your new online registration will not become active until the 14th of April but it is important that you pre-register in advance of this date in order to ensure that you have online access up to the merger (with your existing Swilly Mulroy Credit Union app / website) and immediately after the merger has been completed (with your new Letterkenny Credit Union app).

How Will I Know When I Have Been Approved?

You will know that your online account has been approved when you receive a PIN via SMS. To access your new online account, use your Username & Password that you created at registration above, and the PIN received by SMS at activation.

These credentials can be used to access the Online Banking section of www.letterkennycu.ie or the Letterkenny Credit Union Mobile App.  The Letterkenny Credit Union website offers information for Online Help.

FAQ

  1. Why Do I need to re-register?

Letterkenny Credit Union uses a different banking platform to the platform that Swilly Mulroy Credit Union uses meaning that the log in details and mobile app to access your account in in Swilly Mulroy Credit Union will be unusable.  

 

You will have a new account number in the merged Credit Union thus the online access and app will be different requiring new log in details and re-registration. 

  1. I have an account in both Credit Unions already. What will happen to thee?

If you are already a member of both Swilly Mulroy Credit Union and Letterkenny Credit Unions, all you need to do is e-mail us at info@swilly.cumail.ie or at info@letterkennycu.ie, tell us your account numbers and we will look after the rest.  We will link both accounts for you ensuring that all the benefits of membership are applied to both accounts from the start.

  1. How do I register?

 

Register by complete the online form on https://live.cuonline-ebanking.com/screens/MemberRegister.aspx?cuid=63

It is important that you preregister in advance of the merger date in order to ensure that you have online access up to the merger (with your existing Swilly Mulroy Credit Union app / website) and immediately after the merger has been completed (with your new Letterkenny Credit Union app).

  1. How Will I Know When I Have Been Approved?

You will know that your online account has been approved when you receive a PIN via SMS.

  1. What happens if I don’t receive a PIN?

 

If you have not received your PIN within 48 hours of registering, below are some scenarios which might explain why you have not received your text:

 

  • The date of birth you entered is incorrect – usually a typo mistake and a member of the team will delete this registration and send an email to the member requesting to send in another register.
  • The mobile/email address provided does not match – the member is usually emailed to contact the office and update their contact information. The registration can then be accepted when the member information is updated.
  • The member is already registered for online banking – the member is usually emailed to contact the office as they already have online access set up.

 

There may be an issue with your mobile phone provider. This can happen with international numbers in particular. Switching your mobile to airplane mode and then back off airplane mode can reset your mobile. Switching your mobile off and on again can also help.

 

If you still don’t receive a PIN number, please contact the office and a member of the team can look into this for you.

 

 

  1. How do I access my account after it has been approved?

To access your new online account, use your Username & Password (created by you at registration above)) and PIN (received by SMS at activation).

 

These credentials can be used to access the Online Banking section of www.letterkennycu.ie or the Letterkenny Credit Union Mobile App. 

  1. Will all of my balances (Loans, Shares, etc) be visible on-line?

Yes, you will have the same visibility and functionality to your accounts as you did using the Swilly Mulroy Credit Union online banking and app.

  1. Can I apply for a loan using my online access or app?

Yes, you can apply for loans or repay an existing loan using online banking or the app.

  1. Can I transfer funds or pay a bill using the online banking / app?

Yes, you can make a standard payment or an instant payment at any time of the day or night.

  1. Where can I find the Letterkenny Credit Union app?

The Letterkenny Credit Union app can be downloaded from Google Play Store or Apple Store (click relevant images below). 

For iPhone (Apple App Store)

Open the App Store.

Search for “Letterkenny Credit Union”.

Tap Download / Get.

Open the app once installed.

For Android (Google Play Store)

Open the Google Play Store.

Search for “Letterkenny Credit Union”.

Tap Install.

Open the app once installation is complete.

  1. Where can I access more information?

The Letterkenny Credit Union website offers information for Online Help.
